To every free user that has complained about posting limits for Livejournal
Fuck you! Fuck the horse you rode in on ! Fuck your father, fuck your mother, fuck the very roots of your family tree! --- Pigface

More thoughts when I'm more coherent. Read news for more information.

Current Mood: Pissed at the upcoming LJ civil war

Heh. I never complained. I think it makes sense to have a limit. I'm a fan of the 5 posts/day limit. That seems reasonable.

There is also a relative bug in the system. I currently have 2 outstanding codes. I could get myself 2 more livejournals, tell my friends about them...and a week after that, get 2 more...wait a week, get two more...

But I wouldn't do that. I've been thinking of getting a second one in order for it to be my source code repository (the best off-site backup EVER), but so far it has been only thoughts.

I'm personally pissed off that I missed the few-hour window for a permanent account. To have one would be divine. If I had one, THEN I know I'd start using livejournal as a source code repository without regret. Heh.

Word.
The "generate more codes, get more journals," is a known "bug," which the LJ team has no plans of fixing. They know about the so-called abuses of it, and as long as you aren't bogging down the LJ repository in general, they don't care. There are a bunch of lamers with some perl scripts who have made LJ slow as fuck, and these people need to die. But that's neither here nor there.

Permanent accounts are a "shit, we need money, let's offer some permanent accounts" fix to the problem of buying servers and paying for bandwidth. They do it every couple of months - the window will be open again, and probably soon. Since they cost $100 a crack, when LJ offers 50 up for grabs, it's an instant five grand. But it won't be if they offer it all the time - which is one of the few inklings of business sense I've seen the creators make.

Anyway, off to finish writing the forthcoming rant.

Well, it's great! Are you happy now?

Re: But.....but...
No, not pissed at you - everybody on the friends-list is exempted. The people in the two latest threads, however . . . "Argh, ARGH!" I say

The only point of contention that I can accept is that it limits posts in communities as well.
Although more often than not I've wished people in communities would just shut up already.
So I guess I don't really care.
