Okay - Super Pissed-Off
Remember how I used to go on and on about how the RIAA was going to fuck people who tried to copy some CD's over to their computer? If not, don't worry - this rant isn't for you. I'm just out a DVD drive on my computer.

Fucking Cockgoblins! Ever since I read one disc (and I don't know which one, to tell you the truth) my DVD drive is completely fucked! As in, acknowledges there is a CD there, but won't play it. At all. And I'm sure it's the fuckers at the RIAA with their copy-protection what done it. Goddamn them . . . this so so SO pisses me off!

Okay. Done. Fucking A.

Shitty. Which machine was this DVD player in?

The Linux box. I have a feeling that the TiBook would have rejected the CD immediately, so I feel all conflicted about losing my drive. It's possible that it's something else, but unlikely.

Have you donee the requisite shutting down, unplugging, re-plugging and restarting?

If so, you should try it on a windows machine, that would alleviate your concerns about harwdare if it works in windows.

You could also try different IDE cables and/or channels and/or master/slave configurations. You never know. I've had drives that wouldn't play nicely with other drives on the same channel, and others that would only work if there was one drive there, and only ONE SPECIFIC DRIVE. They are supposed to be easy, but they are not.

All the more justice then that the RIAA website got hacked a couple of days ago, ne?

after having just installed a few more pieces of microsoft crapola software I've been pushed closer to the Linux brink... if I come begging sometime in the next few months, would you accept a disciple?
