That's not french- I think it's portuguese. I can understand about half of it.

I think that suggests the site owner is in Sao Paolo, Brasil.

Re: Portuguese
She's xcorvis's fiance - she's also three years older than me. I haven't seen her in a long time, but I know she still exists. Hmm . . . wonder when you could see her?

Re: Portuguese
hey, even if you see her, can you prove she exists? face it, doc. you don't exist. none of you do! ask birdfigment, she's a realist....

Re: Portuguese
I only have to prove it to myself, Sam - it involves some doubly-periodic functions and a whole freaking-huge pile of deltas and epsilons, but it works.

I so need this class to be over . . .

Re: Portuguese
tell me about it. once the class is over (by which i mean your days of slave labor in college) you will get to do fun things like go have a pitcher with your best friend which i just did. we had many a laugh stemming from running jokes and shared memories. life is happening. you are stronger now than you were a moment ago. believe it. thinking of you and my other friends makes me smile fondly of the days trekking across the campus, either to perkins and pinochle, sadistic sex, or sharing a cigarette in the fish bowl. do such things still happen? i suggest you listen to "wish you were here" by pink floyd before you sleep. especially the line about lost souls. i wish you weren't four years younger than i, doc. life would have been that much better had we shared more moments.

Re: Portuguese
I saw her less than a month ago, so I'm pretty sure she's still alive.

hmm... I should call her.

What is the theme of the theme?

Or is that how Windowmaker themes work?

I like pretty things, is why I ask.

Did I ever tell you my favorite color was blue?
It's very, very blue. I'll post a screenshot later tonight.

*rolls up sleeves*
I don't know Portuguese, but my ancient and malevolent Spanish skills may be able to decipher a bit... let's take a look at the first sentence:

"Esse culto n縊 morreira jamais at?que as estrelas estivessem de novo em posi鈬o e os
sacerdotes secretos tirassem o grande Cthulhu de Sua sepultura para reanimar Seus
s?itos e recuperar Seu dom?io sobre a Terra."

"This cult will not die until the stars move to new positions, and the secret priests circumambulate the sepulchre of the Great Cthulhu to reanimate His subjects and recover His dominion of the Earth."

...something like that. It goes on about the Great Ancients who will return to shout, kill, and feast in great joy... in a "holocaust of extacy and liberty," to be precise.

The column on the right talks about the history of the Great Ancients (during various epochs other creatures goverened the earth, etc. etc. etc).

...and the center column describes how, for a LIMITED TIME, you can get your very own Ancestral Creature of Evil ("criatura ancestral do mal") for just 2500 Brazilian whatchamacallits, from Morte Subita Inc. (don't know how to translate that name, but it has to do with death).

I'm sure Katie is far better equipped to deal with this page than I am... just a little taste of what's there. A little taste of cute, fuzzy, green PURE EVIL

...PURE EVIL with a period at the end.

It hasn't gotten me yet...

ok, i know it's cheating but if you enter "Adjuração do Grande Cthulhu" into google, and then ask it to transalte the page....it gets most of it.
Hoc Est Qui Sumus: Devourdiscoflamingo on November 13th, 2002 10:47 pm (UTC)
I don't care if it's cheating -
Sometimes, you just don't sleep as well at night without a fuzzy Great Old One under one arm ;)

Katie is unavailable at the moment. Please leave a message after the beep.

Beep

D'OH!
Beep right back at you.

This is what I get for forgetting that there are machine language translators on the Internet, and that, as a CS major, I should be able to find them.
