Dance like you're in Junior High
See, this song reminds me of a time not so long ago - when I was in Junior High, and love was the most important thing in my life. It was also a time when dances had slow songs.

Not surprisingly, there was very little love in my life. This song reminds me of Trina, Amanda, Megan, and all those jerks they ended up with. And that was just Junior High - by high school, I was going to dances just to be depressed during the slow songs, and getting an excuse to leave. How trippy is that?

Do you need some time on your own?
Do you need some time all alone?
Everybody needs some time on your own -
Don't you know you need some time all alone?

Favorite memory from the one Junior High dance I went to: When the DJ played the theme from Mortal Kombat, a herd of boys got riled up and ran in lock-step around the lunchroom, with one of them occasionally stopping to shout "MORTAL KOMBAT!!" at the top of their lungs.

Ahh yes.

High school dances. Now there's a World of Pain. To say nothing of all the formal dances I never went to.

junior high dances? oh, you mean the three hour period of hell they put on at the end of the year that one of the two times we had it was cancled due to violence, and made a basketball game instead. where you learned that the only people you get along with ar the ones who dance "wierd" and your bestest guy friends ask you to ask some of your friends if they like you.

but yeah. that song reminds me of other things, like understanding that all things aren't forever, and that sometimes, it was worth it for the time it lasted. oops! got wierd. *runs*

Funny, I've been thinkin' of that song every time it rains now. Then I get depressed, not because it's a slow song and everyone else but me is dancing, but because it's November and it actually IS raining. I need to move back to a latitude where that song is irrelevant, because you don't get rain at that time of year.
