Good Idea - Watching Lost - Season 2, because you think it's a great show and it just came out on DVD on Tuesday.
Bad Idea - Finishing Lost - Season 2 within 48 hours of buying it.

I am left with a strange desire to make a Dharma Initiative Composite Ranch Dressing Tub. I understand it keeps for seven years at room temperature, and I could probably put, like, my change in there or something.

Self-control is overrated. Just think of it this way. You could have died in a horrible car wreck without finishing it. Wouldn't you be pissed in the afterlife if you had to have some fucking schmo explain how it ended to you instead of having watched it yourself?

It's really only the sleep that I will miss. And I'm almost caught up on all of that.

And it's not like finisihing Season 2 didn't just open up more questions. Now I know what's in the hatch. There's ranch dressing that will keep for seven years at room temperature. Oh, and some other stuff in the magic realism vein. But it's more tied up than it was 72 hours ago.

Are we talking about the same Lost? Or is this just another difference of opinion? Sometimes I can' tell.

How is YOUR dressing tub coming?

Hurley is my hero. Everything else you need to know about lost can be found here.

Actually, my viewings of the second season were spotty. What DO we know about the monster? Anything past that creepy bit where it went head to head with Eko? (that's sufficiently spoiler-less).

There is no more of the "shadow nano cloud" version of the monster than the scene with Mr. Eko.

On the special features disc, they talk about how you can see the monster many, many times in the second season - but that the audience doesn't yet know how to look for it. I'm guessing the monster could also be the hallucinations/manifestations, like Dave and the horse, but that's just a theory.

The group of people that winds up in the hands of the Others in the last episode has got at least 2 things in common. They've all killed at some point, and they've all had visions on the island (suit guy, horse, boar, good ol'Dave).

Woah, that must have been quite an all nighter. How long did it take to finish the whole season?
Hoc Est Qui Sumusdiscoflamingo on September 10th, 2006 01:13 am (UTC)
I bought the series around 2 PM on Tuesday. I was done with Disc 3 at around 5:45 AM on Wednesday. I woke up at 6 PM on Wednesday and finished the series (with the special feature disc) at 1 PM on Thursday. So, a little less than 48 hours.

That's some serious movie watching you had there; you must really like the series.
