Wisdom for the Ages
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?"
--- Jesus of Nazareth (Matthew 6:25-27)

"All things appear and disappear because of the concurrence of causes and conditions. Nothing ever exists entirely alone; everything is in relation to everything else."
--- Gautama Buddha

"You gotta put down the duckie if you wanna play the saxophone."
--- Hoots the Owl

A couple of weeks ago, my GF was teasing me about my rubber duckie that lives in my living room. She started singing the Rubber Duckie song, so I started singing "Put Down the Duckie".

Good times, good times.

I was just reading about Thomas Jefferson's bible and the Gospel of Thomas yesterday in Harper's. Really interesting stuff, not to mention the author had a lot to say about quitting a belief system that rang true.

And there's something outside driving me nuts making sounds like the radio signal in Contact.

Also, with the help of the boogie woogie sheep, I dance myself to sleep.

All very true and good quotes, but that last one reminded me of the scary yellow duckie in the guest bathroom at the in-laws'. It was the size of a small dog. It just sat there and watched you.
