A fuzzy meme of death
Reply to this post, and I'll tell you one or a lot of reason[s] why I like/love/adore you. Then put this in your own journal, and spread the love.

You have some sort of internal mind-track that I can only follow with a little more work, but I find utterly fascinating. I'm convinced that thoughts don't obey the same laws of physics in your head that they do in everybody elses.

Also, I love the way you always say "What's up, Doc?" and then immediately say, "I'm sorry - I bet everyone does that."
prof_vencireprof_vencire on December 9th, 2005 05:07 am (UTC)
As time goes, I increasingly feel your hypothesis is well supported.

It was accidental. Took me second to catch it. "What's up?" is my status question. Culture had other plans.

You appear to have a boundless energy, and a wonderfully developed sense of fun. If your funlovingness was muscle, you could crush a car with your hands.
nettnessbondchick_nett on December 9th, 2005 04:14 am (UTC)
I do believe that you have just reduced me to a puddle of swooning goo. Hopefully attractive goo, but goo nonetheless.
Hoc Est Qui Sumusdiscoflamingo on December 9th, 2005 06:54 am (UTC)
I think it was the video of yourself that you posted. It shores up your "swooning goo" theory.

Although "goo" was not what I was going for. I was aiming for a being of pure energy.
nettnessbondchick_nett on December 10th, 2005 12:23 am (UTC)
Its possible that I am that at other times but if you expect me to be all energetic then you can't be THAT sweet and not expect gelatinous outcomes.

In many ways, I don't feel like I got to know you well enough. But you were always your own person - you didn't bend to other people. I liked that.

Fuzzy death is good.

You exude an aura of competence and panache. Even when you loudly disclaim the idea that you have any idea what you're doing, I'll still believe that you do. I think you must have a fantastic Charisma, which means it's time to become a Sorceror.

I fear for the day when you have henchmen, because you are very good at doing things once you have disciplined yourself into doing them. Sure, sometimes that discipline takes awhile, but I didn't think four years agi you'd be the martial artist/writer you are now.
Abra SWcloudscudding on December 13th, 2005 06:46 pm (UTC)
once you have disciplined yourself into doing them

Well, you hit that one on the nose. Ugh. I have such difficulty with that.

Thanks for the compliment, though! Hmm. Must...collect...henchmen.

With the love, and the spreading, and the reciprocation.
Actually, that sounds kinda nasty.
But you knew what I meant.

You got heart, man. We have a saying at work that a software engineer who doesn't have heart is no good, because a genius who doesn't do it for the love is going to end up killing somebody by writing stupid code. Okay, so it's just "they gotta have the love", and I hope you can't kill people with web apps, but it still stands - you're a genuine hacker, and I hope that from this day forward you'll be hearing that from somebody every day.

And you're right about being in similar situations - it's like a weird mirror, where I see things I could have done, and they work out just as well if not better.

I'll take Fuzzy but Deadly for 1000, Alex.
Hoc Est Qui Sumusdiscoflamingo on December 13th, 2005 05:21 am (UTC)
You are one of the most principled people I know - you have a strong sense of guiding morals that you stick to, and you don't compromise on what you should never compromise on. I hope that makes sense.
atelierlune on December 13th, 2005 03:48 pm (UTC)
Yeah, it does. Thank you.

i always love it when people say genuinely nice things about other people, especially when its true. even more so when the nice things are said about me.

Re: nada
See, I could tell you're smart, but you already know that. I've always admired how very few things are "a big deal" to you - you really take life in stride, suck the marrow of its bones, and most of the time you know what else you want (but you have fun finding out what that is). I've had a few years to think it over, and I applaud you for you living-life-to-its-fullest attitude and your refusal to take anything too seriously, Jarnikles.

Also, you are the funniest evangelical militant atheist ever.

8========D (no really, a smiley - *not* a big penis for doing you)
I admire your conviction to never stop doing what you love - whether it's math or music or computer-related activities. There are too many days that I lack that conviction.

And thank you for knowing when to take things seriously - the world is in short supply of people who can do that.

The first thing that came to my mind was "Gunn is like Old Faithful". I didn't think that was particularly flattering, especially since I would have to take you out back and shoot you. Then I realized that's Old Yeller, and jus starting thinking about your lust for life, and your creativity that emerges like a strange ooze from the crevices of a dark, nameless being that time forgot. Then I realized that's a little bit too Lovecraftian, but not altogether inappropriate, even if I could get a thesaurus to deal with the nameless thing.

I miss hanging with the Gunn, since I feel like you're one of the only dependable non-family people I have, and you don't judge me for thinking that. You're just you, and you can't be anything else, and I get sick of being around people who bend so easily.

Also, you're like a strange attractor of human interaction - your mere presence generates amusing/predictably unpredictable interactions and ideas. I guess what I'm trying to say is - you're a Spider God. I guess you'll have to learn to live with that.

Most of the time, you know what it takes to make you happy, and it isn't a whole lot. But that's because happiness never takes a whole lot, and you figured that out a long time ago.

It would be really amusing to see what you'd say...because we don't really know each other very well at all. meep. :d
