Are radio-controlled landmines a good idea? Well, we're setting them up in Iraq right now.

I foresee all kinds of bad coming of this.

Oi, what a pain. I hate the idea of landmines because they're so much harder to avoid after the war for civilians than regular munitions. But oh well, at least these ones will be easier to dispose of afterwords if they stick to their promise in getting rid of them.

Geeeez - I'd give yourself at least a four country gap on those babies.

They're not just *any* old r/c landmines, they're WiFi landmines.

WiFi is not a saftey critical system. Hell, most people can't even get one computer to see another computer from 3ft away if their kit is incompatible.

If someone told me they're just deactivated their WiFi mine field, I'd get someone else to walk over it.

On bad idea, just got a whole lot worse.

I second. Particularly in light of evidence that apparently we can't even tell terrorists from official members of the new Iraqi government these days.
