I have been pretty withdrawn lately - this is not something likely to change in the very near future. Lack of responsibility about sleep is the main culprit - I have to become better about just buckling down and sleeping. Otherwise, I get tired and try to do a normal day's work in the same amount of time, which involves staying up later because I'm tired, which means I stay tired, ad infinitum.

I think Gnfnrf discovered a natural parallel to Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle today - for every video clip on your computer, you can either know how cool it is or where it is.

All mine is at d:\media, which is the 3rd drive to carry it.

It know it is a little predictable, but with large numbers of files, organization is key.

I got my cool-ass videos in D:/Movies, and furthmore separated into major sections thereafter:
Anime (includes plenty of AMVs in addition to a couple series
BMW Films (because YAY, Clive Owen)
Film Shorts (like Rejected and that one video where Steve Ballmer keeps jumping around and sweating and shouting "deVELopers! deVELopers! deVELopers! deVELopers!" ad infiinitum)
Funny Commercials
GI Joe! (crazy redone bits of the old show)
music videos
RvsB (Red Versus Blue)
skits and such (from SNL, Jackass, and so on)
Star Wars (comedy Star Wars pieces like "Trooper Clerks")
WTF? (LOTS of videos, most of them involving senseless violence like a guy getting bonked with a shovel or a cat running into a wall)

TA-DAAAAAAAAAAAA. That's organization for YOU.

Not to 1-up you there, chief, but try keeping track of 5 movies worth of clips spread across 6 drives, 100 source tapes, and 200 CD/DVD backups. Plus corresponding audio tracks, half of which, for reasons that now seem very foolish, were given the same filenames as their video counterparts.

This discovery was made chiefly by trying to find the context for the scene that resulted in ninjacornerblooper.mov - I don't envy your position in finding clips of any number of movies you have dancing about. I'm glad that all of mine fit on a couple dozen CD's, and most of them are for historical/recreational purposes.

I fully expect you to just get a 5TB RAID array one of these days ;-)
