The Wandering Age

My time spent during your Earth holiday

I made it to Wisconsin (and back) safely, despite this barbaric planet's inhospitable lack of light (so as to promote driving).

In addition to music for disaffected teenagers*, I gave my brother Mike the gift of a shaved head for Christmas. I think Mom was a little pissed, but my brother loves it.

I did a whole lot of getting in touch with the lazy, non-working part of myself - the part that thinks "productive" is finishing Season 7 of Buffy on Day 1 and watching all of Firefly with my Dad on Day 2. At least we're bonding.

I gave my brother Pat House of Leaves and The Left Hand of Darkness. He's in college now - he can handle them.

I think I'm ready to tackle a week of actual work, including reading a week's worth of other people's blogs. It was good to go without computers for a week, but now I hear their siren call even louder than before.

*: Metallica, Master of Puppets; Megadeth, Countdown to Extinction; Pigface, Easy Listening (For Difficult Fuckheads)
