It really isn't about my having nothing to say
It's about me being afraid of what you might say, given the opportunity.

For right now, all I know is that "Hardware Store", "Anrgy White Boy Polka", "A Complicated Song", and "Ebay" are pure genius. Pure, 188 Proof, G-E-N-I-U-S. Obviously, my standards for being genius have changed slightly - there is a polka in there. But, as masui informed me earlier, "Hardware Store" is indefatigable genius.

Also, Season 3 of Angel is both very good and very bad. Mostly because of Wesley, but also because of Fred, or, as the roomie calls her, "English Peasant Hottie". Damn cliffhanging crap on a stick.

But the computer works at home now, so I might get more of a chance to putter around with the writing and so on.

I just recently pirated that album, and I pretty much agree with you. Though my real favorites are "Couch Potato" and especially "Ode to a Superhero". I like "Angry White Boy Polka", but I like the second half more than the first. The first half just doesn't seem to 'click' for me. I think "Hardware Store" is nice and catchy, but due to my musical ignorance I don't know which song he's mocking, or if he's mocking some other song at all.

I forget "Ode to a Superhero" - I'm a big Billy Joel fan, and all the background music is note-for-note a faithful recreation of "Piano Man". It's awesome!

The "Angry White Boy Polka" is the polka that Weird Al throws on every album - just a medley of songs, sometimes with a theme, and sometimes not. It's just weird to hear all the music of a single genre made into polka.

"Hardware Store" is a musical original - he gets extra points for the early Neubauten-sounding intro.

No, Wes most definitely did not deserve most of what he got - demon blood be damned! I can't say there was stuff that I didn't like - the season is almost uniformly awesome. Gunn and Fred - that was a little weird, and I still don't really see it.

It was very emotional - I don't think I've felt that way from a season in a long time.

Damn you, clever one! Give us the link to this artist you speak of who writes the funny songs. John C-something, is it? Mentioned, perhaps, in Popular Science? Give us the links, prrrrrecious, gives them to us, yes?

Oh, and I actually saw the episode before last of Angel, which is unique for me. Josiah and I saw the trailer, where Angel gets turned into a PUPPET, and couldn't NOT watch it. Oh, and the entire 4th season of Buffy is on sale used at my store for about 29 bucks. Does Doc want me to pick it up for him? ::raises eyebrow::

His first name is Weird . . .
His last name is YANKOVIC ;-P

Poodle Hat - you gotta check it out!

I'm only "missing" Angel Season 1, and Buffy seasons 2 and 5, and I'm planning on finding all of the above in the near future. I appreciate the offer, though :-)

Re: His first name is Weird . . .
::smacks forehead:: SON OF A WHORE! I should have known that. My Weird Al powers of L33tNESS have faded since my first year at Mac... I think it was his long-ass hiatus between releasing Bad Hair Day and Running With Scissors. Damnnation! Me getting that album forthwith. BGWAH!
