Diving bells and Butterflies
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly may be one of the best books ever - the reviews definitely point to it as a seminal and "important" work. This page covers some of the internals, and there is apparently a stage adaptation.

Note to Self: Find it and read it at some point.

I do not - I found an excerpt about it when I was cleaning out an old folder in my backpack.

i concur. it's a good book, a quick read, and deserves to be re-read numerous times. i don't know about one of the best books ever, but maybe the most labor-intensive writing processes ever.

Well, it might be - I haven't read it yet. I might consider prefacing entries like this with "Note to self:" or somesuch.

I read the Reader's Digest book section for it a long time ago. I'm still simply amazed that it was dictated by the blinking of an eyelid.

But first you should read Hard Boiled Wonderland and The End of the World.

If you like.
