Legal ROMS
Finally, somebody (Star ROMs) has offered up the idea of legal ROMS for emulators to play around with. Right now they only have Atari games, but they are planning on expanding outwards - hopefully NES, SNES, etc. ROMS won't be too long in coming.

They still don't have "Defender".

In order to sell roms, one must have the proper software to play the roms. They point people off to MAME, which is reasonable, but lazy; "Here, download some software that we won't support, so that you can play the games that we sold you."

What's your point?

Re:
No real point, other than it would be nifty to see a commercial emulator come up in the post-Bleem world.

I really don't know how it would be more solid than MAME, but I see your point. Legal issues abound in the emulator world, as soon as you start charging money for emulators - I think that would be the biggest obstacle.
