nonamenoslogan is a good example of "mythic consciousness". These are the people who believe that their laws are the laws of nature; that their customs are self-evident and natural; that their God is the one true God, because it is theirs; that their logic is the one true logic, and their beliefs are the only ones that matter. They believe that "common sense" is the ideology that was imprinted on them by being raised in whatever culture they have been raised. Mythic consciousness is the source of nationalistic pride (as opposed to patriotic pride). They can not be wrong, because their belief is, by definition, right.

Most industrialized nations are at a gross level of mythic consciousness, while their individuals may be at higher or lower classes of the spectrum.
