CS Type System (Short Version)
Type A: More interested in practical applications than theory.

Type B: More interested in theory than practical applications.

Type C: If you majored in CS, and you really don't know why, you're probably Type C. There's nothing to be held against you, necessarily. But most of the people we didn't know why they were in our class, that's them.

That's the short version - XCorvis, if you get a chance sometime, fill in the gaps. I will too, as I find the time.

EDIT: Keep in mind - Mr. Morris is the canonical Type A - I and XCorvis are Type B.

I think I'm equally interested in CS theory and application. But lately I feel better at application... I have too much ego and too little patience to be a true scientist, so instead I'm more of an artisan.

I feel you man.

I'm studying CS theory, yet when I'm not in class, I actually implement the data structures and all sorts of goodies that go along with them. What other CS theory student writes an editor when they can't find one that is good enough (http://pype.sourceforge.net)?

yeah that is really short

Yup. I am so Type A. I mean, things you can do in theory are cool to think about, but it's much more fun to actually write a text parser than to think about natural language programming in Swahili or whatever.

Type D: Needs a science credit and blundered into the class. Easily confused with type C. ;)
