Computer Science, Programming, and Natural Science Link Round-Up
(From a number of the usual places - but most people seem to be not reading them lately. Huh)

Australia, known for years to be peopled with criminals, has diverted federal money ($25,000 AU) into a video game that simulates prison break-outs. Yes, read that again - I'm not lying. The funny part? Actual prison maps are used for the levels . . .

Ever wanted to code a side-scrolling computer game? Do you run Windows? Check out Gamedev - a library for just that. Looks really cool - but there's no Linux port. Doc will cry now.

More free documentation (for the Linux-ey folks) than you can shake many sticks at.

Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel. WOOOHOOOOO!!!!

Oh yeah, and scientists discovered a new new subatomic particle. Um, woohoo?

It may as well be called 'Fallout: Diablo' if they're using the same core engine and play mechanics as they did in the abominable 'Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance'. On the other hand - since it wasn't really the engine or core mechanics that made BG:DA bite massive wang - I still have some hope though... there's a chance that Black Isle could pull this one off.
