Stolen from scathach:

If you read this, even if I don't speak to you often, you must post a memory of me. It can be anything you want, it can be good or bad, just so long as it happened.

Then post this to your journal. See what people remember about you.

I remember how roll-with-the-punches you are, which is a necessity when you've gotta deal with a friend like me.

In specific, I remember seeing you walking down Snelling, and having not been seen I hid behind a huge flower pot and called you on my cell and played a game of hide and seek with a well-timed dash across Snelling. Then we went and what? Probably watched Futurama or hung out at the Broiler. I also remember lots of conversations about the art of writing.

I remember swinging by your old apartment and watching "Dead Alive" and the Fensler films for a couple of hours one saturday night.

More in general, I remember how you always provided constructive criticism towards any dance set I tried to throw together.

I remember actually daring to show you my poetry, and at one of them you looked up, impressed, and said "holy multiple symbolism, Batman!" and I laughed. That really made me feel like I could write something decent, if I got Doc's praise for it ::grin::

There was also that time that you, me, and Josiah went out for dinner, and you & I ordered something from Grand Shanghai and Josiah got something from Green Mill. He got his order early but you and I had to wait, and Josiah declared he was going to go to Walgreens to grab some pop, then swing back to pick us up. However, we'd nabbed the best parking spot ever (right in front of Grand Shanghai) and were reluctant to have him leave, because we knew we'd never get it back. Just then I remembered that Josiah had a traffic cone in the trunk, so we got it out and placed it in the middle of the parking spot while Josiah took off. We spent maybe ten minutes waiting for our food and watching cars START to pull into the parking spot, see the cone, and drive away. I turned to you at one point and said "Doc, while this is hilariously funny, I do believe we're going to hell for it." Then Josiah arrived and we had to surreptitiously toss the cone back in the trunk like we had nothing to do with it. Good times ::laugh::

Oh yeah, and the wedding toast. I still maintain that you gave the Best Toast Ever. ::grin::

I remember standing outside Olin-Rice with you and talking on your breaks. That time you came to my Dupre single and hung out - I remember looking at the clock after you left and thinking, "shoot, he was here for so long!" The time I lent you that CD and the elevator was busted and you'd thrown your back out so you hobbled all the way up to the 6th floor and back with me. (Conversely, the time I called you when I was trapped in the elevator and you came to offer support.) The time I was showing you photos from my sister's graduation and Halloween before Anime, and you told me I had a cute smile. I remember that you never make me feel stupid for not knowing something, and you always do a good job of explaining stuff, complicated or not.

Also, Happy Birthday. Do something special for yourself.

Now that I think about it, a lot of them involve one of us poking the other.

The very first day I met you, you poked me in the arm to see if I was real. Not many weeks after that, for whatever reason, we were talking and you held up one finger and said "Know what this is?", and I said, "No," and you said, "A distraction," and tickled me with your other hand. Silly things. You always make me smile.

There was this one time I borrowed your car and broke it, and then you borrowed it back and broke it.

There was also a time I bought a lamp and Phil broke it, and then you and nyasara cleaned it up for me. That was awesome.

I remember you coming to dinner in a black hoodie, setting the tray down, then pulling back the hood, drawing stunned gasps from the table at your baldness. You then leaned over to sit down & I could see staples in your scalp.

That was different.

I have a lot of memories of you.

I remember when Ann and I spent the weekend at Jenn's house and you and I started play wrestling and I ended up accidently giving you a bloody nose:/ Actually, I still have pictures

I remember running into you at Barnes and Noble randomly one evening, after we hadn't seen each other for a while. You were killing time before a movie, I was reading Personal Finance for Dummies. It was a little weird, and we didn't have much to say, but it was still really good just to see you.

I always remember your overflowing kindnesses. There's been more of that than anything else.

I remember walking away from Kagin with you (and someone else, I think) sometime in my first two years at Mac, and something had led me to share my ambition to own a black leather catsuit and find excuses to wear it. Your response was, "And you will make a lot of men very happy," at which point I was tongue-tied; I never know how to respond to really good compliments.

I remember the mischievous smile you had on your face every time you aura-tickled me - you and Cole were the ones who did that the most.

There were numerous instances at any sort of gamer gathering where, during a conversation, you'd get this little smile on your face and then quietly say something that was incredibly funny. (Such as, "And here we see the vaginas of Madagascar, nibbling away at the pineapples.")

Also, as scathach said, your kindness. Along with that, I remember your willingness to give help whenever you were asked - my CD-RW drive and CS-23 homework are the two things that come to mind first, but there were many more.

I remember the first time I saw you in scrubs. Canth and I were standing out on the stoop behind the fishbowl, and there you came, looking for all the world like you'd lost your scalpel. I thought it was pretty cool.
