Words for today  
The word for today is kathenotheism (not kakenotheism, which may have something to do with excrement). Or henotheism, if you're down with the whole hierarchy thing.

also, would you contrast kathenotheism with monolatrism for me? they seem to be the same thing.

Let's see if this makes sense -
It looks to me like kathenotheism is monolatrism of a time and/or place, or that kathenotheism is a (potoentially) sequential monolatrism. If I had a belief in many gods, but worshipped only one at a time depending on the season (like Hades in winter, Persephone in spring, etc.), it would be kathenotheism. Monolatrism would be if I believed in both Hades and Persephone as equal gods, but I only worshipped Hades. Henotheism means I think Hades is definitively superior to all other gods, but I can worship whoever I want.
